Enjoy the fabulous panorama on hiking trails around Oberstaufen. There are more than 90 kilometers of winter hiking trails and trails for snow-shoe hikers.

Both extended winter hikes and small, easy hikes for children are possible.

Powder snow and miles of skiing trails under the blue sky - these are the cross-country skiing conditons in the Allgäu. Nothing is far for our guests, because the start to the cross-coutry skiing trails are located directly at the hotel.

Start directly at the hotel with a tour through the romantic Schwarzenbach valley. From Buflings the trail leads you through the woods and further along the sunny area of the golf course.

In total there are ten different routes with more than 70 kilometers and perfect conditions. All ten tracks are are groomed and prepared for classic skiers and 7 for skate skiers as well. The different tracs offer various difficulties and are thus suited for everyone.

Appearances can be deceiving: Cross-country skiing looks easy, bit the technique needed should not be underestimated.

We will gladly help you to book a single or group lesson at the cross-country ski school in Oberstaufen. The academy is located directly at the Kalzhofer skiing track. Snow shoe hikes

When snow covers the landscape, the world turns quiet. The stunning mountains in the Allgäu develop a special attraction while you are snow hiking. The only thing you can here is the snow crunching under your feet. Snow shoe hiking is challenging, but also offers more individuality when you are discovering the white landscape off the beaten path. However, no prior experience is necessary. There are many tracks you can decide to walk… around the Konstanzer valley, the Weißach valley or tours in Steibis and Aach.

Do you want to take part in a guided tour? Our sport teacher shows you beautiful places in and around Oberstaufen. And breaks to warm up are also on the program: in cozy mountain cabins with a glass of tea or mulled wine. Snow shoes are available to rent free of charge.

Torchlight Hiking

The winterly darkness seems dark black and mysterious. The starry sky radiates all the more. In the crisp cold and clear air we can see more stars than usual. We feel phantastic, bundled up warmly and with a torchlight in the hand.

Twice a month we have a special "Schmankerl" for you: the "Dein Engel" torchlight hike. When it gets dark we start our hike. Nothing but our torch enlightens our way through the snow. We trudge through the snow an the Allgäu winter night until we see a light in the distance.

There we make a cosy pause. After that we return to the hotel, warmed up and strengthened. In our bar we invite you to a "Glühwein" (hot wine) and some nice moments at the crackling open fire

Tobogganing fun during your holiday

The toboggan tracks in Oberstaufen are quite something. Whether you are looking for a steep, curvy or simply fun track, there is something for you.

You can rent the right sled for your downhill adventure at the Imberg or Hochgrat directly at Sport Hauber in Steibis. With the cable railway you go up to the mountain stations. Both tracks offer a unparalleled descent into the valley. While the track from the Imberg is about 3 km long, the track at the Hochgrat is 5 km, pretty steep and therefore very fast. From 1708 m you’ll descent to 856m. A special highlight is the nightly toboggan ride. Every Saturday, weather permitting, between 6 pm and 9 pm you can zoom down the mountain in full floodlight.
